GreenTek in the News GreenTek Partners Take Aim at E-cycling Discarded Electronics Hannibal, MO - Bill Martin and Sally Poole have joined forces to clean up Northeas Missouri and West-Central Illinois. The two are partners in a new bsiness called GreenTek, an e-cycling firm that will pick up electronic waste – computers, televisions, basically anything electronic that isn't legally supposed to go to the dum – and dispose of it. "We're doing this because there's a big need," Martin said. Poole, owner of Poole Advertising, said both she and Martin have long had an interest in recycling. She has worked for years to get a city wide recycling program in Hannibal. Circuitry featuring insulation or other toxic elements are stripped down and deliverd either to a smelter, or ffor things like curcuit boards, and EPA-certified disposal site. The fees for the disposal service GreenTek offers is based on the weight of the electronics, and can range anywhere from $1 per item to $18 per item. An industrial rate is available for larger volumes. There are two drop off points for small volumes of electronics: In Hannibal at the Northeast Independent Living Services facility, 909 Broadway, and in Quincy, IL at Computer Works, 405 Hampshire. Businesses with larger volume are asked to contact GreenTek.
